Once I started digging into it, I had to order some for myself to test.Once I understood how beta-alanine works, it became apparent why my workouts have been positively impacted by this supplement. During intense exercise, hydrogen ions are produced, amongst other chemicals, by the muscles that are participating in the exercise. The accumulation of hydrogen ions lowers pH which leads to muscle fatigue, and thereby degrading the muscles' performance.Carosine is produced when Beta-alanine combines with the amino acid histidine. Carnosine soaks up the excess hydrogen ions mentioned above during intense exercise, and therefore delays fatigue. In short, beta-alanine could be described as a buffer to help maintain a more neutral muscle pH and delay the onset of fatigue.Biogenique is an excellent Canadian brand. I am currently using their CoQ10, Cranberry extract and reishi mushroom supplements. I find Biogenique to be a reliable Canadian brand offering unique supplements at a reasonable price.This product has a valid NPN, and it is GMP compliant. The packaging looks professional and the capsules are tasteless and odourless. This is not a once-a-day kind of supplement as the ingestion requires a bit more commitment. One is supposed to take 2 capsules 3 times a day, but I found myself experiencing the "tingling sensation" as warned as a potential reaction. It was not debilitating but it required a bit of adjustment. After lowering the dosage by 50%, the reaction became mostly unnoticeable. The big question is, does this supplement improve the intensity of the workout? The answer is yes. It doesn't make me stronger but it lets me train better and allows me to squeak in that extra rep at max weight.Highly recommended.

It provides a decently big dose in each capsule, which is just so much easier than trying to choke down a powder hastily mixed into a drink. There is no smell or taste noticable when taking them. 180 in a bottle sounds like a good amount, but it is only considered a 1 month supply if you are taking the full recommended daily dose (2 caps, 3/d).I'm not entirely sure how much of an affect they are having on my general wellbeing or my muscle fatigue in particular. They aren't making me feel worse at the very least (unlike the previous brand I tried).
