Laxative effect

I got it for my mom as a magnesium supplement and tried one and had to go to the bathroom very soon after with explosive diarrhea so the laxative effect of citrate is no joke. I'm prone to diarrhea so it's not a testament to the product's power. My mom never told me anything about having such effects so maybe it helped in some small way for her. She's a rock and nothing phases her. Hopefully the magnesium supplementation part helped in some way but I'm not sure if it's better to get a different kind of magnesium for the desired effects. It's said that magnesium is deficient in almost everyone but after noticing how many different kinds of magnesium there are, all with different effects and functions, it starts to seem like citrate alone helping with constipation isn't really all that useful for other problems in the body like heart rhythm, muscle relaxation, cramps, sleep problems, brain function, etc. All I ever hear about citrate is that is absorbs well and helps with constipation. If that's what you want then this might be great for you but I'm starting to learn more towards 8 in 1 type blends to get more of the general effects that magnesium should have on the body. I'm starting to doubt that citrate alone is sufficient as a supplement and may only be useful in a specific case situation. This did what it said it would so I can't really take any points off.

Decent Mag Citrate - high dose

The Biogenique brand is new to me, but this Magnesium Citrate works just like any other brand that I've used in the past. One capsule is 500mg which is actually a lot compared to other companies, so I'm sure to only take one or it could cause stomach upset. There's only a one month supply in this large bottle, so it's a bit of a waste of plastic but it's a simple Mag Cit that is Made in Canada and is non-GMO with a visible NPN on the bottle. It arrived properly sealed as well!
